Andrade Nunes is an investor in a number of companies, he has an MSc in management from the London School of Economics and is a corporate lawyer by trade, however, he is not your typical legal eagle. Andrade’s entire life has been a transgression between two very different realties each evolving deeply around his art. ‘I started drawing and painting at the age of seven and have been continuously developing my skills ever since. Perhaps I belong to the so-called group of ‘outsider artists’ as I have not had any formal artistic education. ‘I create my work in a spontaneous way, without awareness of other things being produced elsewhere or at any point in time. First and foremost, I paint for myself, I could not live without it, painting to me is as natural and as necessary as breathing’ Part of this collection will be seen at Christies and National Portrait Gallery silent auction 2020.
