Gjoen, a London-born artist of Norwegian descent, has crafted a distinctive path that bridges fashion and fine art. Having studied fashion design in London and Milan, Gjoen began his career working with fashion icons like Vivienne Westwood before transitioning into art—a shift sparked by decorating his own London flat with his creations. Drawing from his multicultural upbringing across Switzerland, Denmark, Italy, and the UK, Gjoen fuses street and pop aesthetics with classical art to question themes such as religion, war, beauty, and destruction. Describing himself as an “accidental” artist, he breathes new life into old masterpieces, manipulating historical artworks and powerful objects into pieces that are fragile, beautiful, and thought-provoking.
